Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Social Media & Community Manager to join our innovative fintech company. This role is crucial for driving brand awareness, fostering user engagement, and building a vibrant community around our AI-powered money platform.

You will be responsible for managing our daily presence across key social media channels, including X, Instagram, TikTok, Telegram, LinkedIn, and Facebook. This involves developing and executing content calendars, creating compelling content briefs, and writing high-quality captions, scripts, and community posts that simplify complex crypto and fintech concepts for an African audience.

Furthermore, you will play a vital role in building and nurturing our online communities across platforms like Telegram and WhatsApp. This includes welcoming new users, guiding them through the onboarding process, and providing prompt, professional support. You will also be instrumental in gathering user feedback, identifying recurring issues, and escalating them to the appropriate internal teams.

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to user acquisition and growth initiatives. You will support campaigns aimed at driving product registrations and active users, assist in executing referral and ambassador programs, and identify potential partnerships with creators and relevant brands. Your insights will be valuable in tracking campaign performance and suggesting improvements.

While not requiring senior media buying expertise, a foundational understanding of paid acquisition through platforms like Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and X Ads is expected. You will collaborate intelligently with ad specialists to ensure effective campaign execution and reporting on key metrics such as cost per lead and cost per active user.

We are looking for a builder who takes ownership, solves problems proactively, and brings recommendations rather than just issues. Success in this role means driving measurable improvements in social media output, community growth, engagement quality, and user activation rates within your first 90 days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own product daily presence across X, Instagram, TikTok, Telegram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and other relevant channels.
  • Build and manage monthly and weekly content calendars.

  • Publish, schedule, optimize, and repurpose content across platforms.

  • Welcome new users and guide them through onboarding.
  • Respond to user questions clearly, professionally, and quickly.
  • Escalate product, KYC, payment, withdrawal, or technical issues to the appropriate internal team.
  • Build trust with early users and turn strong community members into advocates.
  • Gather user feedback, recurring complaints, objections, and feature requests.
  • Support campaigns designed to drive product registrations and active users.
  • Help execute referral, ambassador, campus, creator, and community growth programs.
  • Identify partnership opportunities with creators, communities, student groups, fintech communities, crypto communities, and relevant brands.
  • Work with founders on launch campaigns, activation events, webinars, challenges, and growth experiments.
  • Track campaign performance and recommend what to scale, stop, or improve.
  • Suggest bold but practical growth ideas without waiting to be told what to do.
  • Understand the basics of paid acquisition and work intelligently with an ads specialist or agency.
  • Coordinate campaign objectives, funnel structure, audience targeting, creative testing, and basic optimization.
  • Report on cost per lead, cost per registration, cost per KYC, and cost per active user.
  • Submit weekly growth and community reports.
  • Track content performance, engagement, community growth, user questions, and campaign outcomes.
  • Report on user confusion, content effectiveness, and conversion blockers.
  • Help build a clear dashboard of awareness, acquisition, activation, and retention metrics.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in social media, community, growth, or digital marketing.
  • Excellent written English and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to write clear, sharp, culturally relevant content.
  • Experience managing social media accounts for a brand, startup, creator, community, or agency.
  • Ability to work and think independently and move quickly without constant supervision.
  • Strong organization, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Ability to interpret data and make practical recommendations.
  • Experience in crypto, Web3, fintech, payments, wealthtech, or financial services (Strong Advantage).
  • Experience marketing to Nigerian or African audiences (Strong Advantage).
  • Experience running referral, ambassador, creator, or community-led growth programs (Strong Advantage).
  • Hausa language proficiency (Strong Advantage).
  • Nigerian Pidgin fluency (Strong Advantage).
  • Experience working with influencers or creators (Strong Advantage).
  • Basic design, Canva, CapCut, Figma, or short-form video editing skills (Strong Advantage).
