Job Description

This is your opportunity to join one of Nigeria’s most ambitious technology infrastructure projects. We are seeking a Principal Distributed Systems Engineer to lead the design and development of the core technology behind a Tier-III Sovereign Data Centre and a nationwide Distributed Edge Compute Network.

This role is ideal for a highly skilled engineer who enjoys working on high-performance systems, mathematical optimisation, cloud infrastructure, cryptographic security, and enterprise-grade backend platforms. You will architect and build mission-critical systems from the ground up, including a Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) Workload Optimisation Engine, a SHA-256 Immutable Billing Ledger, advanced PostgreSQL Row-Level Security (RLS) for multi-tenant environments, and a Distributed Edge Compute Orchestrator capable of managing workloads across thousands of nodes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement high-performance distributed backend systems.
  • Develop a production-grade MILP optimisation engine for real-time compute workload allocation.
  • Build a blockchain-inspired SHA-256 immutable billing ledger with tamper detection.
  • Implement advanced PostgreSQL Row-Level Security (RLS) to guarantee complete tenant data isolation.
  • Design and deploy a distributed edge compute orchestration platform.
  • Lead production deployment, load testing, performance optimisation, and technical knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in Distributed Systems Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python Backend Development.
  • Expertise in PostgreSQL & Multi-Tenant Database Architecture.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker & Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of Mathematical Optimisation (MILP).
  • Understanding of Cryptography & Secure Data Systems.
  • Experience with High-Performance Backend Platforms.
  • Familiarity with Edge Computing & Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Backgrounds in Cloud Infrastructure, FinTech, Quantitative Trading, Operational Research, AI Infrastructure, or Large-Scale SaaS Platforms are strongly encouraged.
