Job Description

Mountain Studio is seeking a talented Product Designer to join their dynamic, remote team. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend agency-style collaboration with the direct impact of early-stage product ownership.

In this position, you will be instrumental in crafting thoughtful, high-quality user experiences for both web and mobile platforms. You'll translate complex or evolving requirements into structured user flows and intuitive interfaces, developing wireframes, information architecture, personas, prototypes, and high-fidelity UIs.

A key aspect of this role involves building scalable and consistent UI systems, conducting thorough research and competitive benchmarking, and synthesizing insights to inform design decisions. You will collaborate closely with founders, Product Managers, and developers to ensure cohesive and impactful user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Designing thoughtful, high-quality experiences for web and mobile (Android, iOS, PWA)
Translating vague or evolving requirements into structured user flows and interfaces
Creating wireframes, information architecture, personas, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI
Building scalable and consistent UI systems
Conducting research, competitive benchmarking, and synthesizing insights
Collaborating closely with founders, PMs, and developers to ship cohesive experiences
Using AI tools meaningfully in your workflow — from research and ideation to copy, prototyping, and systems thinking

Qualifications

3+ years of experience working in a design agency or product team
Exceptional UI/Visual Skills — ability to visually present the same idea in multiple ways; up to date with trends
Strong system thinking — layout, hierarchy, spacing, responsiveness, consistency
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written): Ask the right questions, Get clarity in chaos, Structure messy inputs into clear outputs, Present and defend decisions thoughtfully
AI-native mindset — actively uses AI tools in the design process
Comfort working directly with clients or founders
Deep curiosity about how products work and how people use them
Advanced proficiency in standard design tools
A curious mind, humble attitude, and eagerness to learn and grow
