Job Description

We are seeking a highly disciplined, data-driven, and execution-focused Head of Expansion & Location Strategy to spearhead the structured rollout of a proven, high-performing all-day dining concept across Lagos.

This role is dedicated to achieving replication excellence, leveraging location intelligence, and maintaining rigorous unit economics discipline. It is not a branding, marketing, or creative position. The successful candidate will build a robust expansion engine anchored in operational realities, financial viability, and scalable site selection frameworks.

You will collaborate closely with founders and real estate advisors to ensure every new location meets defined performance benchmarks and long-term scalability standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and document a replicable store prototype (size, layout, seating capacity, CAPEX benchmarks, access and parking requirements).
  • Develop a Lagos-specific expansion roadmap, including market sequencing and prioritization.
  • Translate growth objectives into structured, phased rollout plans.
  • Design and implement a robust site evaluation and scoring framework based on catchment area analysis, accessibility, traffic patterns, rent-to-turnover ratios, payback period targets, and operational feasibility.
  • Identify, assess, and recommend high-potential locations for expansion.
  • Rigorously reject locations that do not meet defined performance and scalability criteria.
  • Partner with founders and external real estate advisors during negotiations and final site selection.
  • Ensure expansion decisions align with unit economics and capital efficiency.
  • Standardize expansion processes to ensure repeatability and quality control.
  • Continuously refine frameworks using real-world performance data.

Qualifications

  • 7–15 years of experience in multi-unit F&B or retail expansion.
  • Proven track record of successfully opening multiple locations of the same concept.
  • Strong understanding of catchment area analysis, accessibility dynamics, rent-to-turnover ratios, store-level profitability, capital allocation, and payback periods.
  • Experience operating in emerging or complex urban markets preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions with imperfect data and real-world constraints.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Urban Planning, Finance, or related field (MBA is an advantage).
