Job Description

Matar Al Baqmi Holding Company is seeking a meticulous and experienced Cost Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

This pivotal role involves ensuring the accuracy of product costing, inventory valuation, and comprehensive cost analysis. You will be instrumental in maintaining precise cost data, analyzing production and purchase cost variances, and monitoring Bill of Materials (BOMs) and standard costs. Your insights will directly support operational reporting and critical commercial decision-making, contributing significantly to our financial health and strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and review product cost structures, including raw material, packaging, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
  • Review Bills of Materials (BOMs), costing versions, and related master data to ensure accurate and approved costing information in the ERP system.
  • Monitor raw material prices, landed costs, and purchase price movements, analyzing their impact on product costs and margins.
  • Analyze material usage, purchase price, production, and yield variances to identify key drivers of cost movements.
  • Support accurate inventory valuation and reconcile inventory quantities and values between operational records, costing reports, and the general ledger.
  • Coordinate with the production team and other users responsible for recording inventory-related entries, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform month-end costing activities and reconciliations, including reviewing production costs, inventory movements, and cost of goods sold.
  • Conduct monthly stock counts at Group company locations, reconciling records, investigating, resolving, and reporting unreconciled variances.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, and R&D to evaluate the financial impact of recipe/BOM changes, purchase prices, production changes, and new products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CMA, ACCA, CA Intermediate, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, management accounting, manufacturing finance, or a similar role.
