Job Description
Jumia is seeking a highly analytical Senior Commercial Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving revenue growth and optimizing category performance through expert data analysis and strategic insights. You will take ownership of our P&L performance, develop actionable recommendations, and manage key aspects of revenue streams, inventory, and value-added services. Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Gross Profit P&L performance against budget and provide actionable recommendations.
- Optimize GP2 by managing seller/customer passthrough and adapting commission structures.
- Reconcile marketing contributions and ensure accurate booking of all revenue streams.
- Collect, clean, and analyze raw data to identify trends and anomalies.
- Manage master data integrity and ensure data quality.
- Create compelling reports and presentations to influence business decisions.
- Develop and accelerate adoption of Value-Added Services (VAS).
- Design action plans for Key Account Managers and ensure seller subscription to visibility services.
- Manage inventory through POs and COs to ensure optimal assortment and healthy stock levels.
- Ensure online visibility and proper merchandising for warehouse products.
- Coordinate repricing strategies for slow-moving items and performance steering actions.
- Partner with internal teams to implement data-driven solutions and optimize processes.
- Collaborate with management on project objectives, budgets, and timelines.
- Continuously improve analytics processes for enhanced profitability and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field (MSc is a plus).
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in top-tier consulting, e-commerce, investment banking, audit, or as a data/business analyst.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, SQL, Tableau, and other analytics software.
- Strong data analysis capabilities with the ability to recognize patterns and trends in large datasets.
- Extremely structured, analytical, and organized with strong mathematical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable insights and communicate them clearly.
- Strong risk assessment abilities and experience developing data-driven business strategies.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to find simple solutions to complex problems.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
