Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Head of Trading Operations to lead our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all trading support operations, including trade validation, clearing, and settlement processes.
  • Lead compliance efforts across all trading activities, ensuring adherence to SEC, NGX, and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Advise management on efficient operational structures and strategies to minimize trade failures and optimize liquidity.
  • Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company and client assets.
  • Liaise with brokers, custodians, regulators, and clearing houses to ensure smooth market operations and facilitate audits.
  • Monitor changes in financial regulations and market infrastructure, ensuring proactive adjustments to trading workflows.
  • Mentor and develop junior operations staff, promoting best practices in trade lifecycle management and professional conduct.

Qualifications

  • Mandatory Chartered Accountant (ICAN) certification.
  • Professional membership with the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of proven experience in trading operations, finance, or middle-office roles, preferably within financial services or capital markets.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian capital market laws, SEC regulations, and trade reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in trading platforms, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • High ethical standards and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
