Job Description

Al Geemi Contracting, a leading construction company in the UAE, is seeking a highly skilled Material Engineer to join our quality assurance team in Abu Dhabi.

This crucial role involves overseeing the quality and compliance of all construction materials utilized across our diverse projects. You will be responsible for conducting rigorous material testing, ensuring adherence to project specifications, and maintaining the highest standards of quality control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement material testing plans and procedures in accordance with project specifications and international standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO).
  • Conduct on-site and laboratory testing of construction materials (concrete, steel, aggregates, asphalt, etc.).
  • Review material submittals from suppliers and subcontractors for compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor and inspect material storage, handling, and usage on construction sites.
  • Identify and report non-conforming materials, proposing corrective actions.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of material test results, certifications, and approvals.
  • Collaborate with project teams, consultants, and suppliers to resolve material-related issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in material quality control and testing within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, their properties, and testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with relevant international and local material standards and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using material testing equipment and interpreting results.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and reporting abilities.
