Job Description

Placido’s Place is seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Accountant Manager to spearhead cost control and internal audit initiatives within our growing hospitality brand. This role is crucial for ensuring financial discipline, operational efficiency, and maximizing profitability across all departments.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust internal control frameworks, conducting thorough audits, and identifying opportunities to eliminate revenue leakages. A key focus will be on developing and maintaining detailed food and beverage costing, analyzing variances, and monitoring inventory and purchasing controls to ensure optimal financial performance.

This is a performance-based position where your contributions directly impact value. Success will be demonstrated through measurable reductions in cost variances, improved inventory accountability, strengthened internal controls, and the establishment of a clear monthly management reporting structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and strengthen internal control frameworks across departments
  • Conduct periodic internal audits and compliance reviews
  • Identify and eliminate revenue leakages
  • Monitor adherence to financial policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain food and beverage costing sheets
  • Conduct variance analysis (actual vs potential cost)
  • Monitor inventory, par stock, and purchasing controls
  • Analyze menu profitability and recommend adjustments
  • Prepare weekly and monthly cost control reports
  • Supervise POS reconciliation and reporting accuracy
  • Work effectively with accounting software and Excel-based reporting
  • Ensure accurate daily sales reconciliation
  • Provide management with financial performance insights

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in hospitality accounting
  • Strong background in cost control and internal audit
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA or equivalent) is preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting systems and accounting software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail

Benefits & Perks

  • Monthly salary of ₦450,000 – ₦550,000 during the 3-month probationary period
