Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic operations team at a rapidly growing Rice Mill and Agro-Processing Company in Kano.

In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, and managing budgeting, cost control, and financial forecasting. You will also supervise accounts payable and receivable functions, maintain the general ledger, and ensure strict compliance with IFRS and local tax regulations. Your expertise will be vital in coordinating with auditors, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions, as well as implementing robust internal control procedures to enhance financial discipline.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the entire accounting operations of the rice mill.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage budgeting, cost control, and financial forecasting.
Supervise AP/AR functions and general ledger operations.
Ensure compliance with IFRS and local tax regulations.
Coordinate with auditors, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions.
Implement internal control procedures to strengthen financial discipline.

Qualifications

B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
ICAN/ACCA part-qualified or fully qualified is an advantage.
Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or agro-processing.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, ERP/accounting software, and cost accounting.
