Job Description

Sezzle is seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Engineer to join our dynamic and rapidly growing team. This role is instrumental in advancing our financial platform through sophisticated machine learning solutions.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of machine learning models, from design and development to deployment and ongoing optimization. Your expertise will be crucial in building scalable infrastructure on AWS, developing AI-driven features for personalized recommendations, fraud detection, and credit risk assessment, and ensuring the robustness and efficiency of our AI systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable machine learning infrastructure on AWS, utilizing services like AWS SageMaker.
Collaborate with product teams to develop MVPs for AI-driven features, ensuring rapid iteration and market testing.
Develop and enhance monitoring and alerting systems for machine learning models to ensure high performance and reliability.
Support the utilization of AI/ML models, including Generative AI, across various departments.
Provide production support for machine learning models, including debugging and on-call rotations.
Design and scale machine learning architecture to support rapid user growth.
Conduct code reviews, mentor team members, and foster knowledge sharing.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning technologies and AWS services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, Statistics, Physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
6+ years of experience in machine learning engineering with a proven track record of deploying scalable ML models in production.
Deep expertise in machine learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, data mining, or artificial intelligence.
Proven ability to develop machine learning models from inception to business impact.
Proficiency in Python; experience with Golang is a plus.
Demonstrated technical leadership in guiding teams and owning end-to-end projects.
Experience with relational databases, data warehouses, and SQL.
Strong familiarity with AWS cloud services for machine learning deployment and scaling.
Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools for ML models (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch).
Solid foundation in data processing and pipeline frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka).
