Job Description
Trail Appliances is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join their team in Calgary South. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company's commitment to excellent customer service.
As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for performing general ledger and specialized account reconciliations, including Builder Allowance accounts. You will also complete regular bank reconciliations, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Collaboration with credit and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support audits will be a key part of your responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in an accounting or finance-related role, with hands-on experience in account and bank reconciliations. A strong understanding of basic accounting principles and intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel are essential. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism is also required.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure accurate handling of sensitive financial, employee, and vendor information.
- Perform general ledger and specialized account reconciliations, including Builder Allowance accounts.
- Complete regular bank reconciliations across all company accounts, ensuring all variances are investigated, documented, and cleared appropriately.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including journal review, validation, posting, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Collaborate with Credit and cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies, support audits, and contribute to process improvements and administrative accounting tasks.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in an accounting or finance-related role, with hands-on experience in account and bank reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems.
- High attention to detail with strong accuracy in data entry, analysis, and discrepancy resolution.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and effective collaboration with internal teams.
