Job Description

Mindrift is seeking experienced Data Scientists for project-based opportunities focused on enhancing and evaluating AI systems for leading technology firms. This role is ideal for specialists looking for flexible, part-time engagements that contribute to the advancement of artificial intelligence.

As a contributor, you will design and solve complex computational data science problems that mirror real-world analytical workflows. This involves creating challenges that require advanced Python programming, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques. You will ensure problems are computationally intensive, demanding sophisticated reasoning chains in data processing, feature engineering, and predictive modeling, all while maintaining reproducibility and basing them on practical business scenarios.

The projects span the entire data science pipeline, from data ingestion and cleaning to EDA, modeling, validation, and deployment considerations, often incorporating big data processing. You will verify solutions using standard Python data science libraries and document your work clearly with realistic business contexts and verified answers.

This opportunity is well-suited for Data Science specialists with a strong background in Python and an interest in part-time, project-based work. Key requirements include 5+ years of hands-on data science experience with demonstrable business impact, a portfolio of completed projects, expert Python programming (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Statsmodels), and deep expertise in statistical analysis and machine learning. Proficiency in SQL, Generative AI technologies, MLOps, and modern frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch is also essential. Strong written English (C1+) is mandatory.

The application process involves applying, passing qualifications, joining a project, completing tasks, and receiving payment. Project tasks are estimated at 10-20 hours per week during active phases. Contributors can earn up to $55 per hour equivalent, with compensation varying based on project scope and expertise.
