Job Description

Ethena Labs is seeking a highly skilled Equity Derivatives Trader to join our dynamic trading team. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in managing the operations, trading, and positioning of the backing assets for our innovative USDe synthetic dollar. You will be responsible for the seamless movement of collateral between custodians, operating our sophisticated in-house automated execution platform, and maintaining clear communication with key internal stakeholders. This position demands a high degree of trust, flexibility, and the ability to respond effectively to market events in a 24/7 global marketplace. Your execution outcomes will be highly visible and are central to the success of Ethena's products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in portfolio management activities to support the management of USDe's backing assets, including spot digital assets, derivatives positions, and deployments in DeFi money markets.
  • Execute trades efficiently using proprietary in-house algorithms, strictly adhering to risk parameters and prevailing market conditions.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure continuous trading coverage, primarily during your designated working hours (US or Asia), and extend coverage when necessary to align with the Head of Trading's requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and prioritization of features for engineering to enhance and mature existing trading tools.
  • Monitor real-time market risks, including liquidity, volatility, and counterparty exposure, and adjust positions accordingly to minimize risk.
  • Provide regular, comprehensive updates to the Head Trader regarding portfolio performance, trade outcomes, and current market conditions.

Qualifications

  • Possess a current career at a senior trader level or higher within electronic or quantitative trading.
  • Have established professional experience in cryptocurrency markets, specifically in perpetual contracts and spot trading.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using crypto exchange APIs and order execution workflows with at least two of the following exchanges: Binance, Bybit, Okx, Deribit, Bitget.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Python for data analysis, trade evaluation, or backtesting, utilizing libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
  • Possess strong prioritization and communication skills, essential for a high-paced, high-integrity, and high-outcomes environment.
