Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior API Integration Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and documenting robust RESTful and SOAP-based APIs, leveraging platforms like IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower.
Your responsibilities will include implementing industry-standard security protocols such as OAuth2, mTLS, and JWT, ensuring the integrity and security of our integrations. You will also create and customize API policies using XSLT and GatewayScript to manage complex transformations and routing logic.
Furthermore, you will oversee API deployments across various environments, integrate API Connect into automated CI/CD pipelines, and perform in-depth root cause analysis for integration failures. Collaboration with backend developers, security architects, and product owners will be crucial for defining API contracts and governance standards.
Experience with containerized deployments using OpenShift and Kubernetes is essential, as is applying API governance best practices and versioning strategies for scalable and maintainable integrations. You will monitor API performance, reliability, and security, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

- Support and manage containerized API Connect deployments using OpenShift and Kubernetes.
- Apply API governance best practices and versioning strategies to ensure scalable and maintainable integrations.
- Monitor API performance, reliability, and security across enterprise environments.
- Ensure compliance with organizational integration standards and security requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in API development, integration, and management.
- Experience in banking, financial services, telecommunications, or large enterprise integration environments is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower Gateway.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, SOAP Web Services, XML, JSON, XSD, WSDL, and related integration technologies.
- Experience implementing API security standards such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, SSL/TLS, and API authentication mechanisms.
- Proficiency in DataPower development, including XSLT, GatewayScript, and policy configuration.
- Experience with API lifecycle management, governance, versioning, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and automated deployment pipelines.
- Familiarity with container platforms such as OpenShift and Kubernetes.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis skills in complex integration environments.
- Experience working with API monitoring, analytics, and performance optimization tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- IBM API Connect and/or IBM DataPower certifications are highly preferred.
