Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Intake Coordinator to join our fully remote healthcare practice. In this vital role, you will manage the critical intake process for patients, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurately captured and entered into our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Your responsibilities will include processing referrals, documenting patient vitals and diagnoses, coordinating appointments, and liaising with referring providers. Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Review and process incoming digital e-faxes from referring providers.
- Accurately enter patient demographics, diagnosis codes, insurance details, and treatment orders into the EMR.
- Confirm referral details with doctors and referrals via phone and email.
- Follow up with doctors and referrals as needed.
- Log patient calls according to standard operating procedures.
- Send schedule confirmations and post-treatment summaries to referring offices via fax.
- Create or update patient charts based on received documentation.
- Identify and flag incomplete or unclear information for internal follow-up.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and organization across all patient records.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in medical administrative roles.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, essential for client phone communication.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry.
- Familiarity with digital e-fax platforms and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Comfort working independently in a remote setting.
- Understanding of medical terminology and clinical documentation.
- A reliable internet connection and a quiet home office environment are required.
- Ability to work full-time according to Eastern Standard Time (EST).
