Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Branch Accountant to join our team in Onitsha.
In this role, you will provide essential support to the Branch Accountant, ensuring the smooth operation of daily financial activities and the meticulous maintenance of accounting records.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with financial reporting, performing account reconciliations, processing transactions accurately, and ensuring adherence to compliance standards, all while upholding the highest levels of documentation and accuracy.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and processing daily accounting transactions.
- Support the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for management review.
- Reconcile cash, bank transactions, customer accounts, and other financial records.
- Assist in monitoring branch expenses and ensuring compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
- Process invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and other accounting documents accurately.
- Support inventory and stock-related financial reconciliations where required.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial information and transaction records.
- Support internal and external audit exercises by providing required documentation and reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, finance operations, or bookkeeping.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and accounting software.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
