Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our team and ensure the effective operation and maintenance of our wastewater treatment facilities and camp fat trap station. This role is vital for upholding environmental regulations and maintaining operational integrity.

In this position, you will be responsible for the daily operation of the plant, including monitoring control systems, conducting routine checks, and performing essential maintenance tasks. Your adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols will be paramount to ensuring the efficient and safe handling of wastewater treatment activities.

Key duties include operating and maintaining plant equipment, analyzing test results, adjusting systems for quality control, and administering appropriate chemical dosages. You will also be tasked with regulating effluent flow, monitoring operational parameters, and ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of all sewage facilities and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and maintain the wastewater treatment plant and camp's fat trap station.
Monitor and control plant equipment and systems, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
Conduct routine checks and perform maintenance tasks on plant machinery.
Analyze test results and instrument readings to ensure quality control.
Administer appropriate chemical dosing for effective water and wastewater treatment.
Regulate and control effluent flow through the plant.
Monitor and record operational parameters in the daily log sheet.
Tend to pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, and other treatment equipment.
Lubricate equipment and carry out necessary repairs.
Ensure cleanliness and proper upkeep of sewage facilities and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

Trade Test II Certificate with a minimum of 6 years of experience OR ND/HND/B.Sc in Biological Sciences, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
A minimum of 3 years of experience operating and maintaining sewage or wastewater treatment plants in a Worker’s Life Camp, Hospitality, or FMCG plant is compulsory.
Ability to perform and document various tests required by State and Federal agencies for sewage treatment plant operation.
