Job Description

Aura Lifestyle is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accountant to lead its financial operations.

In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and maintaining compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.

You will lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and implementing robust accounting policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.

This position involves preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing month-end and year-end closing processes, and coordinating with external auditors and regulatory bodies.

You will also provide essential financial analysis and insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making and drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to accounting staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, to maintain a high level of productivity and professionalism within the team.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and safeguard Company assets.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely financial information to management and stakeholders.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments, to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits, reviews, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and key performance indicators, to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, such as department heads and business unit leaders, to provide financial guidance, support, and expertise as needed.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and ensure compliance and alignment with best practices in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Professional Qualification in Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (SAP functional skills preferred).
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience in financial statement preparation, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • 2 years of GCC experience is a plus.
