Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Nurse 1 to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive and safe nursing care to a diverse group of patients and their families, operating under the guidance of experienced registered nurses or preceptors.

Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of nursing duties, ensuring adherence to the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) Nursing/Midwifery Competency Framework and Scope of Practice. You will be instrumental in meeting the stringent standards set by Joint Commission International and other regulatory bodies, contributing significantly to patient well-being and the overall quality of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify outcomes related to patient care delivery and ensure timely care.
  • Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards.
  • Make or recommend necessary adjustments to care plans.
  • Follow hospital and nursing division's philosophies and standards of care set by QCHP and other governing agency regulations.
  • Provide basic assessment skills to determine normal versus abnormal patient characteristics.
  • Deliver safe and appropriate patient care to a specific patient population using the nursing process.
  • Provide direct and indirect care services, including medication and therapeutic agent administration.
  • Perform skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, and initiate peripheral venous access.
  • Observe signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, general behavior, and physical condition.
  • Plan patient care based on assessment, validated by peers.
  • Implement appropriate reporting, referrals, and care in accordance with standardized procedures.
  • Initiate emergency procedures when indicated.
  • Provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Identify patient’s readiness for learning, ability to follow directions/instructions, and give consent.
  • Make special adjustments to patient care as required for specific population needs (cultural, spiritual, age, psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, education, family, and condition).
  • Identify and assess patient safety concerns with respect to age and developmental considerations.
  • Intervene to provide a safe environment and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Provide and accurately document direct and indirect patient care services in the electronic medical record, ensuring patient safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection.
  • Maintain cooperative relationships among healthcare teams through communication, responsiveness, rapport building, and participation in problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in GCC (preferred)
