Job Description

Misfits Market is seeking a skilled Social Media Manager and Content Creator to join our marketing team. This role is crucial for engaging and expanding our online community across all social media platforms. You will be responsible for supporting and enhancing our social media strategy, developing impactful campaigns that boost brand awareness, drive customer acquisition, and improve retention.

Reporting to the Content Strategy Director, you will collaborate closely with our Merchandising and Creative Teams. This hybrid position, based in NYC, offers a full-time, 6-month contract with a monthly compensation of $7,000.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Content Strategy Director in refining Misfits Market’s social media strategy.
  • Ideate, develop (including caption writing and design direction), and post all organic social media content across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Pinterest.
  • Ensure all social media posts are accurate and adhere to Brand standards in both copy and creative execution.
  • Optimize Misfits Market’s organic social media efforts to achieve awareness and customer conversion goals.
  • Collaborate with the Social Community Specialist on community building and engagement initiatives.
  • Work closely with the video team to ideate, film, and optimize video content for social platforms.
  • Participate in team meetings and presentations, contributing creative ideas and influencing the company’s overall marketing strategies.
  • Define, report on, and analyze metrics to generate insights that guide and optimize social media strategy.
  • Act as an internal advocate for strategic, data-informed storytelling that is distinctly Misfits.
  • Execute video concepts by filming in various settings (home, outdoors, on location) and conduct occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience managing social media channels for a Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) brand.
  • Deep understanding of social media trends and platform best practices (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Strong storytelling abilities, including content ideation, social copywriting, and short-form scriptwriting.
  • Comfortable and confident on camera, willing to film oneself and use basic in-app editing tools.
  • Passion for food and Misfits Market's mission to impact the food system.
  • Curious, collaborative, and creative thinker.
  • Adaptive and flexible in fast-moving environments, with strong prioritization skills.
  • Resourceful and proactive in content creation.
  • Knowledge of performance marketing goals and experience partnering with Paid teams is a plus.
  • Familiarity with creative workflow tools like Asana and Figma is helpful.
