About the Company

Minerva Defence is a UK-based sovereign defence technology company dedicated to building advanced unmanned systems for modern warfare. The company operates with a low-profile, focusing on execution and innovation from ideation to manufacturing within the UK. Their mission is to ensure the UK and its allies can defend themselves effectively in an era where major conflict is a reality. Minerva Defence's products are currently in active use on the battlefield, delivering significant operational impact in the most challenging environments. Despite a lean team of 60 individuals, the company achieves disproportionate battlefield impact and generates tens of millions in annual revenue from both UK and international clients. The company fosters an elite, innovative, and mission-focused culture, built for asymmetric advantage: small in headcount, relentless in execution, and outsized in battlefield impact.

Job Description

In the dynamic field of defence technology, software is increasingly developed and deployed far from traditional office settings. Minerva Defence is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to join our mission-focused team, working directly with operators and customers on the ground.

This role places you at the forefront of our operations, where you will own the networking and code that ensure our systems function reliably in the field. Unlike typical software roles, your feedback will come directly from those using the systems, providing immediate insights into real-world challenges and requirements.

You will be responsible for deploying and supporting our platform on-site, managing the critical networking infrastructure, and developing the software that integrates our systems. This is a unique opportunity to be intimately involved in the entire lifecycle of defence technology, from problem identification to solution deployment.
