Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to enhance our business intelligence and analytics capabilities. In this role, you will collaborate closely with BI Developers, Architects, Data Architects, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to transform business needs into clear, actionable requirements.

Your responsibilities will include understanding data lineage, ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and documenting requirements for technical teams. You will act as a crucial liaison between business users and technical experts, ensuring BI solutions align with enterprise data standards and architectural patterns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications for BI Developers, Architects, and Data Engineers.
  • Understand data residency, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling for BI solutions.
  • Document source-to-target mappings, business rules, metric definitions, and reporting logic.
  • Create development-ready user stories, tickets, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, testing, and release coordination.
  • Validate reporting outputs against source data and business requirements.
  • Investigate data discrepancies and reporting defects.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive delivery.
  • Support the standardization of BI requirements and documentation practices.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing and production validation.
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in reporting and data usability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role supporting data, reporting, or analytics initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of BI delivery processes, reporting requirements, data models, and analytics solution design.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with data warehouses, relational databases, or cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Server, Azure).
  • Ability to read and write SQL for data investigation, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data pipelines, source-to-target mapping, and data dependencies.
  • Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration between business and technical teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with Agile delivery tools like Jira or Azure DevOps is preferred.
  • Preferred domain experience includes healthcare, pharmacy, patient services, or life sciences.
