Job Description

CNC Agency is seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant to manage the financial intricacies of client projects. This role is crucial for ensuring accuracy in budgeting, cost tracking, revenue recognition, and client invoicing, directly contributing to the agency's financial health and growth.

You will be responsible for overseeing project budgets, reconciling costs, and managing the end-to-end client billing process. This includes navigating client procurement portals and ensuring timely milestone billing and contract adherence.

Key responsibilities also involve preparing detailed financial reports, including spend analysis and margin analysis on completed projects. You will partner with the new business team to align proposed budgets with company margin standards and oversee the revenue recognition process for project completion.

This position serves as a vital link between project teams and finance, ensuring precise financial records and providing essential analysis for revenue and cost of goods sold.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor project budgets and reconcile actual project costs against budgeted amounts.
  • Perform final project closeout procedures, identifying any applicable credits.
  • Manage the integrity of project budget templates and implement necessary process improvements.
  • Capture initial sold-in budgets within the ERP system.
  • Manage client billing processes and partner with Sales and Account teams for vendor onboarding.
  • Navigate client procurement portals to establish the agency as an approved service provider.
  • Ensure payment schedules in Statements of Work (SOWs) align with company policy.
  • Handle milestone billing, change orders, expedite requests, and contract reviews.
  • Prepare accounts receivable reporting for executive leadership.
  • Manage client collections and address billing inquiries.
  • Provide spend analysis across all projects by category, vendor, and location.
  • Identify financial trends and inefficiencies.
  • Prepare margin analysis on completed projects, evaluating initial budgets against actual performance.
  • Prepare revenue analysis based on project and revenue type.
  • Partner with the new business team to ensure proposed budgets and billings meet company margin standards.
  • Oversee the month-end transition of projects to 'Complete' status upon final contract execution and revenue recognition eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance with an emphasis on budget analysis, client billing, financial reporting, and revenue recognition.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing accounts, reviewing financial statements, and performance reporting for accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
