Job Description

Right To Be is actively seeking a dynamic and highly organized Social Media Associate to join our team. This pivotal role involves the daily management of our diverse social media platforms, ensuring our digital presence is both impactful and consistent.

You will be instrumental in executing compelling social media content, fostering audience engagement, and meticulously maintaining our posting schedules. Your contributions will directly support our broader digital communications strategy, elevating Right To Be’s programs, campaigns, partnerships, and thought leadership across various online channels.

This is a part-time, remote position, requiring approximately 10 hours per week with flexible scheduling across 2-3 days. Core availability from 10:00 AM ET to 2:00 PM ET is essential for at least two days weekly. While primarily remote, some travel may be required. Key Responsibilities

  • Create and adapt visual assets using existing templates and brand guidelines, tailoring content for platform-specific audiences and formats.
  • Schedule and publish content across Right To Be’s social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, Bluesky, and YouTube.
  • Support day-to-day social media operations and content calendar management.
  • Assist with drafting captions, social copy, and platform-specific messaging.
  • Monitor comments, direct messages, and audience engagement, escalating responses when needed.
  • Support live coverage of campaigns, events, webinars, and organizational moments as needed.
  • Help maintain consistent brand voice and messaging across platforms.
  • Create and edit short-form video content for social media, including clipping long-form content, resizing assets, adding captions, formatting content for platform-specific requirements, and preparing videos for publication.
  • Support the execution of approved rapid response content by adapting copy for social media, preparing assets, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and implementing approved communications plans.
  • Assist with identifying timely social media trends, opportunities, and relevant conversations.
  • Support content gathering and organization, including graphics, videos, quotes, and campaign assets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to help amplify organizational priorities, campaigns, and partnerships.
  • Assist with basic reporting and tracking of social media performance metrics.
  • Help ensure accessibility best practices across digital content, including alt text and captioning.
  • Participate in team meetings and planning sessions as needed.
  • Support workflow organization and content management processes.
  • Assist with maintaining social media archives and digital assets.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience supporting social media management, digital communications, or content creation.
  • Strong written communication skills with an ability to adapt tone across platforms.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and social media management tools.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Comfort working collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or basic video editing tools.
  • Familiarity with accessibility practices in digital communications.
  • Experience supporting nonprofit, advocacy, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Understanding of online harassment, digital safety, or movement-building communications.
  • Passion for social justice, community engagement, and Right To Be’s mission.
