Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our thriving Microfinance Bank (MFB).

In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting our daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and contributing to our adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post daily financial transactions and journal entries
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and ledgers
  • Assist in bank reconciliation and cash management
  • Support monthly and quarterly financial reports
  • Monitor loan disbursements, repayments, and interest postings
  • Ensure compliance with CBN and MFB regulatory guidelines
  • Assist during audits and regulatory examinations
  • Support expense tracking and budget monitoring
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • HND/BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2–3 years accounting experience in a Microfinance Bank (mandatory)
  • Strong knowledge of MFB operations and loan accounting
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
