Job Description

The Care Company is seeking skilled and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) to join our team as Part-Time IV Infusion Nurses. This vital role involves providing essential infusion therapies to clients in their homes across Oakville, Mississauga, Etobicoke, and Toronto.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-treatment nursing assessments and review physician orders.
  • Initiate peripheral intravenous access using aseptic technique.
  • Administer prescribed IV infusion therapies.
  • Monitor clients during infusions and assess for adverse reactions.
  • Provide client education on treatment plans and side effects.
  • Safely disconnect IV therapy upon completion.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and client responses accurately.
  • Communicate client concerns or changes in condition to physicians and the healthcare team.
  • Maintain infection prevention and control standards.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, physicians, and pharmacists.
  • Function within professional scope of practice.

Qualifications

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as an RN or RPN.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with peripheral IV insertion and IV infusion therapy.
  • Strong venipuncture and IV start skills.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Negative TB test.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment.
  • Ability to travel throughout Oakville, Mississauga, Etobicoke, and Toronto.
