Scheduled to open in early 2025, AMCE Abuja is a cornerstone of Afreximbank’s healthcare network. The facility will evolve into a 500-bed institution, offering specialized services in oncology, hematology, cardiovascular care, and general healthcare. The project emphasizes global expertise, professional development, and the creation of significant employment opportunities, all contributing to a healthier and more educated future for the continent.
Job Description
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) is seeking a dedicated Quality and Compliance Lead to ensure our healthcare services meet the highest regulatory standards and quality benchmarks. This role is crucial for driving continuous improvement in patient care delivery.
You will work closely with the Quality and Compliance Manager to develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive quality management systems and compliance programs. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular audits, identifying non-compliance issues, and implementing effective corrective actions. This position is key to maintaining adherence to healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
This role involves monitoring performance metrics, analyzing data to identify trends, and collaborating with clinical and administrative teams on quality improvement initiatives. You will also play a part in ensuring staff are well-trained in compliance requirements and best practices, contributing to a culture of excellence and accountability.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of quality and compliance programs.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess adherence to protocols.
- Identify areas of non-compliance or risk and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor performance metrics and quality indicators.
- Analyze data to identify trends and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure staff are trained in compliance requirements and best practices.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure integrated compliance processes.
- Report on quality and compliance performance to senior leadership.
- Foster a culture of excellence and accountability in patient care.
- Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international healthcare regulations and standards.
- Maintain and update hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Manage the hospital's incident reporting system.
- Participate in quality assessment, research, and clinical audits.
- Uphold the code of conduct and professional scope of practice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality).
- At least 5 years of experience in compliance, quality assurance, or regulatory affairs.
- Previous experience with JCI or CQC accreditation or regulatory authorities.
- Experience with policy development, implementation, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated success in managing teams, budgets, and projects.
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, quality management principles, and healthcare best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
