Job Description
Pula is seeking a dedicated Data Analyst to join our growing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity and effective utilization of our data, supporting strategic initiatives, and driving operational excellence.
You will be responsible for a range of tasks, from configuring data collection tools and conducting rigorous quality checks to supporting field teams and identifying project risks. Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Configure survey settings and allocate field agents using the in-house data collection tool.
- Perform data quality checks according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide timely support to the support desk and field staff, ensuring clear communication.
- Leverage data analytics and project knowledge to identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Deliver regular daily, weekly, and ad-hoc updates to management.
- Propose effective solutions for challenges encountered in field operations.
- Draft training materials, protocols, and other essential documentation.
- Assist in survey creation and participate in sampling or other data collection activities.
- Proficiently utilize designated tools and software as per project requirements.
- Maintain honesty and transparency in all work-related activities.
- Engage in direct and open communication to address problems and provide constructive feedback.
- Determine appropriate methodologies for data quality checks, analysis, and operational assessments.
- Identify and propose improvements for existing data quality check SOPs.
- Develop new processes and procedures to enhance project operations.
- Train field staff on new systems and processes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of newly implemented processes.
- Document findings, prepare comprehensive reports, and provide data-driven recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management, or Information Systems.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced NGO environment.
- Proficiency in specialized statistical analysis software and data visualization tools such as Power BI or similar platforms.
- Must be proficient in Python and R; knowledge of SQL is preferred.
- Ability to communicate complex information effectively through clear writing and excellent verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with mobile data collection technologies (e.g., Commcare, Kobo, Survey CTO) and experience with new applications and innovations.
- Capability to transform technical data into presentations suitable for diverse audiences.
- Skilled in collaborating with diverse groups, partners, and colleagues, demonstrating a strong team spirit.
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines effectively.
