Job Description

PZ Cussons is seeking a dedicated Boiler Technician (Electrical) to join our facility in Ikorodu. This role is essential for ensuring the reliable electrical operation of our plant's critical utility systems.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical components in gas and diesel generators, air compressors, and boilers. This includes performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting electrical faults, and ensuring all electrical equipment is safe and operational.

Key responsibilities include preparing detailed weekly and monthly energy reports, KPI reports, and generator status reports. You will also manage substation maintenance, including transformers and tripping units, and ensure the availability of spare parts for all repairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical systems for gas/diesel generators, air compressors, and boilers.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly energy reports, KPI reports, and generator status reports.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on generators and ensure proper functioning of electrical components.
  • Service substation tripping units and ensure relays have power supply.
  • Perform maintenance and checks on substation transformers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment electrical faults.
  • Repair and maintain electrical aspects of fire hydrant equipment.
  • Monitor, repair, and replace energy meters in all substations.
  • Ensure all generators are available for operation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of electrical maintenance activities.
  • Ensure substations are safe for work and inspect all relays.
  • Perform planned maintenance for all breakers.
  • Inspect generators before operation.
  • Ensure availability of spare parts for electrical repairs.
  • Ensure fire hydrant pumps are available at all times.

Qualifications

  • ND/HND/BSc in Electrical Engineering or related engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities quickly.
  • Demonstrated leadership and technical skills.
  • Good financial analysis skills.
