Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Electrical Manager to lead the Power Plant operations at our Obajana Plant. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless and efficient functioning of all electrical equipment within the power plant, preventing breakdowns, and maintaining robust operational continuity. You will be responsible for providing expert electrical engineering guidance, overseeing maintenance activities, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Provide electrical engineering expertise for transformers, generators, motors, relays, cables, etc.
- Generate work orders for identified electrical problems.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Prioritise and assign electrical system related work orders to skilled maintenance staff.
- Direct assigned maintenance staff in resolving complex and/or difficult maintenance issues.
- Manage procurement actions for spares and equipment.
- Prioritize personnel safety & health and ensure good housekeeping during all maintenance jobs.
- Devise appropriate Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules for all critical equipment as per OEM recommendations and ensure proper implementation.
- Ensure discipline, skill enhancement, and motivation of subordinates.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Section Head, Electrical.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of work experience in a Gas Turbine based power plant.
- Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance, including generators, transformers, AVR, compressors, AC systems, and other relevant equipment.
- Proficiency in modern electrical systems.
- Very good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated creativity and ability to think innovatively.
