Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our power plant team. This critical role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems and equipment within the power plant to ensure consistent and reliable energy generation.
Your responsibilities will include conducting routine inspections, diagnosing and resolving electrical faults, and performing necessary repairs to minimize downtime. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of all assigned electrical assets.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults within the power plant.
- Carry out corrective maintenance, including repairs and replacement of electrical parts.
- Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and service calls to minimize equipment downtime.
- Start, test-run, and safely shut down generator units and associated electrical systems.
- Ensure all electrical systems, including control panels, are functioning properly.
- Monitor electrical load management and system performance.
- Log all maintenance and repair activities accurately in maintenance records.
- Report major electrical faults and recommend appropriate solutions or escalation.
- Maintain an organized inventory of electrical tools, spare parts, and consumables.
Qualifications
- OND, HND, or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in generator maintenance, specifically with units ranging from 40kVA to 500kVA and above.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Familiarity with major generator brands such as Perkins, Cummins, FG Wilson, and Mikano.
