Job Description
M-KOPA, a trailblazing fintech company dedicated to expanding financial inclusion, is seeking a dynamic Marketing Operations Manager to join our Marketing and Communications team in Nigeria. As we scale our operations and drive digital and financial inclusion across our markets, you will play a critical role in shaping our brand presence and driving sales through innovative marketing strategies.
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead Nigeria's marketing function, combining strategic brand leadership with hands-on execution of through-the-line marketing initiatives. You will partner with our Global Marketing team on brand strategy while simultaneously designing and implementing promotional mechanics, dealer incentives, and market activations that directly boost sales through retail channels and DSR networks. You will manage a local team and dedicate significant time to market visits to ensure execution quality.
Your responsibilities will encompass strategic brand building, translating M-KOPA's evolution into compelling campaigns that foster trust and consideration. You will also lead trade marketing and BTL efforts, designing promotional mechanics and managing market activations. Furthermore, you will oversee digital marketing aspects, including social media management and performance analysis, and drive paid social campaigns. This is a hybrid role, requiring collaboration with diverse teams across different locations.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Translate M-KOPA's brand evolution into effective campaigns that build trust and drive consideration.
- Localize brand campaigns and articulate how brand equity translates to sales.
- Utilize customer insights and market data to guide brand positioning.
- Design promotional mechanics, dealer incentives, market activations, and field campaigns to drive sales through retail and DSR networks.
- Manage BTL agencies and conduct market visits to oversee execution.
- Develop sales enablement tools and deploy the BTL toolkit effectively.
- Manage social media presence and develop content calendars that balance storytelling with performance.
- Analyze and optimize digital marketing efforts, including paid social campaigns and referral programs.
- Manage a marketing team and foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Spend 30-40% of time in market to ensure campaign effectiveness.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of progressive marketing experience in through-the-line marketing, with a strong emphasis on BTL and trade marketing execution.
- Experience ideally from FMCG, telecommunications (MNOs), consumer electronics, or BTL agencies handling major brand accounts.
- Demonstrable experience managing integrated marketing campaigns from strategy through execution.
- Proven ability to translate brand objectives into promotional mechanics that drive measurable sales results.
- 2-3 years of team management experience, including leading marketing teams and managing agency relationships.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders with a data-driven approach and commercial acumen.
- Experience demonstrating clear ROI on marketing investments.
