Job Description

Smit Lamnalco is seeking a dedicated and experienced Contract Manager to join our team in Port Harcourt. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients, strictly adhering to contractual agreements.

You will oversee the seamless execution of managerial, operational, and technical aspects of contracts, maintaining a steadfast focus on client satisfaction and robust financial performance. Throughout the entire contract lifecycle, you will serve as a trusted partner, driving efficiency, providing comprehensive oversight, and ensuring that all outcomes meet both client expectations and strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure that all operations are performed in a professional, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients.
Guarantee that all contractual obligations are met to the full satisfaction of the customer.
Conduct regular performance review meetings based on pre-agreed performance parameters.
Ensure all operations are undertaken in a safe and secure manner, in full compliance with the company’s SLIMS policies and procedures.
Ensure all operational and vessel personnel comply with relevant regulations, as well as Operational and SHEQ policies and procedures; analyze non-compliance and swiftly implement corrective/preventive actions.
In close cooperation with HR, provide adequate training and development for all staff under your responsibility.
Conduct annual performance appraisals for shore staff, Captains working on board tugs in the contract, and Chief Engineers (in conjunction with the technical department).
Provide input to annual budgets and monthly/quarterly performance reports, monitor the financial performance of the contract, and ensure the contract budget is achieved.

Qualifications

Proven experience in contract management, preferably within the maritime or logistics sector.
Strong understanding of operational and technical aspects of service delivery.
Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and ensure satisfaction.
Proficiency in financial monitoring and budget management.
Knowledge of safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
