Job Description

Smit Lamnalco is seeking a dedicated and experienced Contract Manager to join our team in Port Harcourt. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients, strictly adhering to contractual agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all operations are performed in a professional, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients.
  • Guarantee that all contractual obligations are met to the full satisfaction of the customer.
  • Conduct regular performance review meetings based on pre-agreed performance parameters.
  • Ensure all operations are undertaken in a safe and secure manner, in full compliance with the company’s SLIMS policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all operational and vessel personnel comply with relevant regulations, as well as Operational and SHEQ policies and procedures; analyze non-compliance and swiftly implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • In close cooperation with HR, provide adequate training and development for all staff under your responsibility.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals for shore staff, Captains working on board tugs in the contract, and Chief Engineers (in conjunction with the technical department).
  • Provide input to annual budgets and monthly/quarterly performance reports, monitor the financial performance of the contract, and ensure the contract budget is achieved.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in contract management, preferably within the maritime or logistics sector.
  • Strong understanding of operational and technical aspects of service delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and ensure satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in financial monitoring and budget management.
  • Knowledge of safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
