Job Description

An esteemed asset management company is seeking a highly skilled Fund Accountant to join its team in Victoria Island. This pivotal role encompasses the comprehensive management of financial accounts, reporting, and operational activities for the firm. You will be instrumental in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory adherence, and providing critical insights that drive strategic business decisions.

Key responsibilities include preparing Quarterly Portfolio Returns (QPR) and SEC Quarterly Financial Returns (QFR), coordinating financial analysis, and safeguarding the company's interests through timely statutory and regulatory reporting. You will also be responsible for monitoring and enforcing robust internal controls, implementing cost management strategies, and ensuring compliance with all government reporting and tax filing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Quarterly Portfolio Returns (QPR) and SEC Quarterly Financial Returns (QFR)
  • Coordinate the analysis and synthesis of financial and non-financial information for sound business decisions
  • Ensure timely generation of relevant statutory and regulatory reports/returns
  • Monitor and enforce internal controls over financial transactions and reporting
  • Track and report on robust cost management strategies
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Supervise the Asset Management finance team for complete documentation and tax remittance proof
  • Ensure key business performance analyses and reports are generated and circulated timely
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of accounting records by performing daily reconciliations

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance with a strong academic record
  • Professional certification(s) in Finance and/or Accounting from recognized professional bodies (e.g., CFA, ACA, ACCA)
  • A minimum of four (4) years’ work experience in a similar role
  • Deep knowledge of and interest in the Financial Markets, as well as strong business and financial acumen
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
  • Proven leadership, negotiating, and influencing skills
