Job Description

VFD Microfinance Bank is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Governance Project Lead to spearhead critical initiatives focused on enhancing our corporate governance framework. In this vital role, you will be responsible for leading complex projects that ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices.

You will manage the full project lifecycle, from planning and execution to monitoring and reporting, collaborating with various departments to embed robust governance principles across the organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage governance-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to scope.
  • Develop and implement robust governance frameworks, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify areas for improvement in governance processes.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and operational teams to ensure cross-functional alignment.
  • Prepare detailed project plans, status reports, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years focused on governance, risk, and compliance within the financial services industry.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and corporate governance principles.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools.
