Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Specialist to join our Networks Division, focusing on the smooth operation of our Operations Support Systems (OSS) and Network Management Systems (NMS).

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining tools, applications, and scripts to enhance the effectiveness of our OSS/NMS and Tools platforms. You will perform critical system administration tasks, manage system updates, and conduct corrective, preventive, and routine maintenance.

Your duties will include monitoring the status and performance of network elements interfacing with OSS platforms, maintaining databases, and ensuring the proper integration of new network elements. You will also provide essential Back-End and Front-End support to users of these platforms.

The ideal candidate holds a First Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with 2-7 years of relevant experience. Hands-on experience in Unix/Linux System Administration and scripting/programming in a telecommunications/IT environment is essential. A Unix/Linux certification and knowledge of Python/Shell Scripting are desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain tools, applications, and scripts to increase the effectiveness of the OSS/NMS and Tools platforms.
  • Perform system administration for the OSS/NMS and Tools platforms.
  • Manage system updates/necessary changes in systems set-up in OSS/NMS and Tools platforms.
  • Carry out corrective, preventive, and routine maintenance on OSS/NMS and Tools platforms.
  • Monitor status and performance of the network elements interfacing with the OSS platforms.
  • Maintain databases where standard data on OSS is kept.
  • Ensure proper integration of all new network elements into OSS/NMS and Tools platforms.
  • Provide Back-End and Front-End support to OSS/NMS and Tools platforms users.

Qualifications

  • First Degree in Electrical / Electronic or Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Unix/Linux certification is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Python/Shell Scripting is desirable.
  • 2 - 7 years of experience which includes: Hands-on experience in Unix/Linux System Administration.
  • Hands-on experience in scripting and programming in telecommunications/IT environment.
  • Telecommunication industry experience or experience in related industries is desirable.
