Job Description

Offchain Labs is seeking a dynamic Product Manager to join our core protocol team. This role is pivotal in driving the roadmap for Arbitrum Nitro, a cutting-edge blockchain scaling solution, and contributing to the evolution of decentralized applications.

You will collaborate closely with our backend engineering, research, and leadership teams, including the CTO and Head of Product, to tackle novel technical, economic, and social challenges within the blockchain space. Your responsibilities will include owning and delivering a scaling and innovation-focused roadmap, prioritizing changes from bandwidth improvements to broader adoption of EIPs/RIPs, and bringing new technologies to market.

This role involves interfacing directly with our research team to translate breakthroughs into scoped product changes, proactively identifying technical and non-technical requirements, and strategically guiding engineering teams with synthesized feedback. You will also act as a force amplifier for marketing and partnerships, ensuring technically sound messaging for product launches and protocol changes.

Key Responsibilities

Own and deliver against a scaling-focused & innovation-focused roadmap
Ruthlessly prioritize changes from bandwidth improvements to broader adoption of EIPs/RIPs
Bring to market novel, 0-to-1 technologies
Interface directly with the dedicated Research team to turn breakthroughs into finely scoped product changes
Integrate feedback into our exploratory pipeline
Proactively identify requirements at a technical and non-technical level
Ensure continuous product success, including docs, ecosystem infrastructure, and granular front-end details
Strategically guide and inform engineering teams
Source and synthesize feedback from existing projects, users, market landscape, and technical considerations
Prioritize development work
Act as a force amplifier for marketing and partnerships teams
Deliver successful but technically sound messaging for new product launches and protocol changes
Educate and inform stakeholders
Integrate across the company, ensuring alignment between engineering, design, marketing, partnerships, and other teams

Qualifications

3-5 years in a PM role or a closely related technical capacity
A burning curiosity and/or deep understanding of blockchain technologies
Stellar written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable influencing and collaborating with individuals across the organization
Capable of diving deep into technical details while keeping an eye on broader business objectives
Flexible, dependable, and thrives in ambiguous situations
Takes ownership when needed
Ability to work well and thrive in uncertain or ambiguous environments
Ability to make informed decisions with limited information
Excel at turning ambiguity into clear, actionable plans
Continuously strive to obtain, synthesize, & productively react to new information to evaluate current priorities and re-navigate if necessary
Experience developing or experimenting with software, infrastructure, and/or blockchain applications (side projects, hobbyist projects, hackathons)
Bonus points for blockchain-related development/experimentation
A degree in Computer Science or an Engineering field, OR hands-on experience in building software products
A proven track record of shipping production-grade software, especially targeted at a developer audience
Familiarity with software development processes is crucial
Prior experience at a fast-growing tech company or a software startup is a big plus
Working at a protocol team in the blockchain industry is a plus
Working on distributed systems as a technical contributor is a plus
