Job Description

Work on Climate is seeking a dedicated Research Analyst volunteer to join our Impact Research Team. In this vital role, you will contribute to our mission of mobilizing talent for a climate-positive economy by analyzing program data, uncovering key insights, and supporting data-driven deliverables. You will gather data through mixed-methods research, including surveys and interviews, and analyze quantitative and qualitative information to inform program design and demonstrate impact to allies and funders. Key Responsibilities

  • Gather data using qualitative interviewing and surveying methods.
  • Craft, administer, and distribute surveys.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data using statistical and/or coding software (e.g., Hex, Excel).
  • Create basic data visualizations and graphs for communications and reports.
  • Draft insights and takeaways from the data based on findings and analyses.
  • Communicate findings using established tools and workflows.
  • Collaborate with other teams to understand their goals, target members, KPIs, and questions.
  • Refine research questions, test hypotheses, and develop research plans using data from surveys and internal datasets.

Qualifications

  • 2-4+ years of experience collecting and analyzing data using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research.
  • Experience with analytical tools and/or coding software (e.g., Excel, Stata, R, Hex, PowerBI, AtlasTI).
  • Experience drafting qualitative surveys, logic models, and independent analysis plans is a plus.
  • Experience collaborating with team members and project stakeholders, gathering project needs, and communicating findings to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent individual and group communication skills.
  • Ability to work with people of different work and communication styles from around the world.
  • Fluency in the English language.
