We are seeking a highly experienced Assistant General Manager, Mechanical with a specialization in Hydraulics to join our team at the Obajana Plant. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex hydraulic systems integral to our bulk material handling and processing equipment, including FLS Coolers, IKN Coolers, Loesche VRM, and OK Mills. Your expertise in fluid mechanics and engineering principles will be vital in developing sustainable solutions and ensuring the efficiency, safety, and reliability of our plant operations. Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems for various plant equipment, including stacker luffing/hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic hoses, directional control valves, proportionate valves, cooler hydraulic drives, and VRM hydraulic systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies and assessments to identify and resolve hydraulic faults.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective hydraulic designs and engineering plans.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with hydraulic systems, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform hydraulic calculations, simulations, and modeling to predict equipment performance.
- Oversee the installation of hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Inspect and assess existing hydraulic infrastructure, recommending necessary maintenance or repairs.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in hydraulic engineering technologies and methodologies.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Liaise with stakeholders and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Hydraulics Training or a specialized Hydraulics Course is essential. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in cement plant hydraulics, encompassing operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience in hydraulic engineering, with a focus on the design and maintenance of hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in understanding hydraulic circuits, notations, and symbols.
- Familiarity with relevant hydraulic engineering software and tools, including AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and SAP Module.
- Strong mathematical and computational skills.
- Knowledge of environmental impact assessment processes and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in project management and working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
