We are seeking a highly experienced Deputy Sectional Head for Instrumentation to join our dynamic team at the Ibese Plant. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the selection, installation, calibration, and maintenance of electronic instrumentation and control systems within our gas turbine-based power plant. Your expertise will ensure the reliable operation of essential equipment, contributing directly to the plant's efficiency and safety. Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Section Head, Instrumentation in all aspects of instrumentation management.
- Select, install, calibrate, and check instrumentation and circuitry for gas turbine-based power plants.
- Develop specifications for nonstandard apparatus and ensure their compliance with engineering data.
- Sketch, build, or modify jigs, fixtures, and instruments, verifying the quality of fabricated devices.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Instrumentation and Control Systems.
- Ensure timely procurement of maintenance spares.
- Uphold personnel safety and health standards, and maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Devise and implement appropriate PM schedules for critical equipment based on OEM recommendations.
- Foster discipline, skill enhancement, and motivation among subordinates.
- Install or direct technical personnel in the installation of units in test facilities.
- Ensure the proper operation of test apparatus during test cycles to regulate and record environmental conditions.
- Analyze and convert test data into usable forms, preparing graphs and written reports.
- Utilize computerized equipment and software for testing functions and data presentation.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Section Head, Instrumentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering with a Power option, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in Instrumentation maintenance within Gas Turbine-based power plants.
- Well-versed in Instrumentation philosophies, Instrumentation Standards, and Engineering Standards and regulations.
- Knowledge of various instrumentation types and the design philosophy of complete packages.
- Familiarity with different DCS systems and Control Logics.
- Good knowledge of power plant processes, Governor control, Turbine control systems, Fire and Gas Detection systems, communication systems, and integration of different control systems.
- Experience in preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
- Well-versed in safety requirements for job execution and permit systems.
- Very good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Very good oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and SAP or similar productivity tools.
