Job Description
Dangote Cement Plc is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Manager to oversee the maintenance and operational integrity of control and instrumentation systems within its gas turbine-based power plant at the Obajana facility. This pivotal role involves ensuring the reliable and safe functioning of all instrumentation, from installation and calibration to preventive and corrective maintenance. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing robust maintenance schedules, managing spare parts procurement, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement among your team.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Execute maintenance activities on installed Control & Instrumentation systems of Gas Turbine based power plant.
- Install, calibrate, telemeter, and record instrumentation and circuitry.
- Develop specifications for nonstandard apparatus.
- Sketch, build, or modify jigs, fixtures, and instruments.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of Instrumentation and Control System.
- Ensure timely procurement of maintenance spares.
- Ensure personnel safety & health and good housekeeping.
- Devise and implement PM schedules for critical equipment.
- Ensure discipline, skill enhancement, and motivation of subordinates.
- Install or direct technical personnel in installation of units in test chambers.
- Ensure proper operation of test apparatus during test cycles.
- Analyze and convert test data into usable forms and prepare reports.
- Use computerized equipment and software for testing functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Section Head, Instrumentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of work experience in a Gas Turbine based power plant.
- Conversant with Instrumentation philosophies, Standards, Engineering Standards, and regulations.
- Knowledge of various instrumentation types and design philosophy of complete packages.
- Knowledge of different DCS systems & Control Logics.
- Good knowledge of power plant processes, Governor control, Turbine control systems, Fire and Gas Detection system, communication systems, and integration of different control systems.
- Proficient in preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
- Well-versed with safety requirements and permit systems for job execution.
- Very good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Very good oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Creativity and ability to think out of the box.
