Job Description

Dangote Industries Limited is seeking a skilled Millwright Fitter to join our team at the Okpella Cement Plant. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of essential industrial machinery and mechanical equipment that drives our cement manufacturing operations. Your expertise will ensure the continuous and efficient functioning of key production units, contributing directly to our operational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, and align heavy machinery and mechanical components, including motors, pumps, conveyors, and rotary kilns.
  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and perform necessary repairs or replacements of worn or damaged parts.
  • Lubricate, clean, and calibrate machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Inspect mechanical systems and components for wear, damage, or malfunction, and report findings to supervisors or engineering staff.
  • Analyze and resolve mechanical problems quickly to restore operations and prevent production delays.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices in hazardous environments.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and equipment performance.
  • Work closely with other technicians, such as electricians, welders, and production operators, to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure efficient plant operations.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Sectional Heads.

Qualifications

  • First degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in industrial machinery within an industrial or cement-related field.
