Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Foreman to lead our Cloverbar Transload Facility operations. This crucial role involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of transload activities and aggregate sales.

You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, supervising and developing facility personnel, coordinating equipment usage and maintenance, and upholding company policies, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.

This position offers a seasonal work schedule, primarily from March to November, with potential for extended work based on project demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise crew members and heavy equipment for efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor crew productivity, identify issues, and address manpower or equipment needs.
  • Ensure safe and efficient truck loading and conveyor mobilization within the facility.
  • Work with QC staff to implement corrections and monitor stockpiles for segregation and contamination.
  • Manage aggregate stockpiles to optimize space and ensure safe movement of vehicles and equipment.
  • Inspect rail cars before loading, unloading, or moving, and complete all required documentation.
  • Ensure supervised staff adhere to asset maintenance policies for equipment and rail cars.
  • Operate equipment or perform labor for loading/unloading and site maintenance to meet targets.
  • Submit accurate daily timesheets, tickets, and production records.
  • Perform competency evaluations and ensure training for supervised staff.
  • Manage employee performance, addressing poor performance and negative behavior.
  • Set a positive example, encouraging positive attitudes and crew harmony.
  • Ensure all work complies with legislation and company safe work policies.
  • Conduct and review daily hazard assessments and toolbox meetings.
  • Participate in safety inspections and discussions of safe work practices.
  • Support incident investigation by leading and completing reports.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in gravel pit, mining, or civil construction.
  • Valid Class 5 (or higher) Driver’s License with a driving record meeting Park Paving's standards.
  • Proficiency in supervising work crews and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of rail safety, aggregates stockpiling, and aggregates handling.
  • Ability to efficiently operate heavy equipment associated with aggregates production and transportation.
  • Proficiency in common productivity tools and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Current certification in IROR, Rail Car Mover Operator, Track Inspection, and Intermediate First Aid (or higher).
