Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Scheduler IV to join DVJ Consulting Engineers, a firm renowned for its commitment to precision and integrity in engineering consultancy.
In this critical role, you will be instrumental in coordinating the preparation of project schedules, ensuring they align with defined project execution philosophies. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough contractor schedule reviews to guarantee contract conformance and uphold quality assurance standards.
You will expertly evaluate contract change orders and amendments, assessing their impact on both budget and schedule. A key aspect of this position involves performing time impact analyses for project schedule delays and potential claims, as well as participating actively in change order negotiations.
This role demands a deep understanding of Critical Path and Earned Value analyses. You will be tasked with identifying schedule-related problems that arise during project execution and proposing effective corrective actions and innovative solutions.
Furthermore, you will conduct construction and project site visits to provide progress reporting and review contractor’s weekly and monthly schedule progress. Your findings will be summarized in a narrative, submitted, and presented to management for informed decision-making. The ability to review and evaluate contractor recovery schedules is also essential.
This position also involves performing cost analysis to support the design and construction phases of capital projects, analyzing actual expenditures against budget performance, and preparing cost-loaded schedules to support comprehensive cash flow projections.
You will be expected to understand, interpret, and apply contracts, policies, and procedures within Build LACCD guidelines. Excellent oral and written communication skills are paramount, along with the flexibility to work at multiple sites based on assigned schedules and duties, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the preparation of project schedules based on defined project execution philosophies
- Perform contractor schedule reviews for contract conformance and quality assurance
- Evaluate contract change orders and amendments for impact on budget and schedule
- Perform time impact analysis of project schedule delays and potential claims

- Conduct construction/project site visits for progress reporting
- Review contractor’s weekly and monthly schedule progress, prepare narrative of findings, submit and present to management for decision making
- Review and evaluate contractor recovery schedules
- Perform cost analysis in support of design and construction phases of capital projects
- Analyze actual expenditures versus budget performance
- Prepare cost loaded schedule to support comprehensive cash flow projections
- Understand, interpret and apply contracts, policies and procedures within Build LACCD guidelines
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Work at multiple sites based on assigned schedule and duties
- Work in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in project or program scheduling on large construction programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or other related field. Additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis
- Advanced proficiency in specified software including, but not limited to, Primavera Scheduling Software, MS Office Applications including Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of theories, principles and practices of cost engineering and scheduling
- Experience with time impact analysis
- Experience with construction claims and change orders
- Flexibility in schedule and transportation to work at multiple sites based on assigned schedule and duties
