Job Description

Maple Reinders is seeking a skilled Concrete Lead Hand to join their project teams. In this vital role, you will work closely with Foremen and Superintendents to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of concrete construction work.

This is a hands-on position that involves not only direct concrete work but also the coordination of crews, daily task direction, and layout support to meet ambitious productivity and schedule targets.

You will play a key part in maintaining workflow, supporting crew performance, and ensuring all work adheres to project drawings, specifications, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate daily activities of assigned concrete crews
  • Communicate daily work plans, priorities, and production targets
  • Support formwork, concrete placement, stripping, and resetting of forms
  • Assist with layout, elevations, and verification of dimensions and tolerances
  • Inspect formwork and embedded items prior to concrete placement
  • Identify and correct deficiencies before pours
  • Lead by example in health and safety practices
  • Participate in hazard assessments and toolbox talks
  • Coordinate with Foremen, Superintendents, and other trades
  • Monitor productivity and assist with maintaining workflow and site logistics

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of concrete construction experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with formwork, placing, and finishing
  • Knowledge of wall and slab formwork systems (Meva or similar)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience leading small crews or acting in a senior field role
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and productivity
