Job Description
Packt is seeking a visionary Founding Growth Hire to spearhead the scaling of ExpertEdge, their groundbreaking AI-augmented learning platform. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead the outbound and demand generation engine for a product that is redefining professional development.
You will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive outbound system from scratch, encompassing list building, signal capture, multi-channel sequences, and conversion optimization. Your role will involve owning the demand generation strategy, including content, social media, and SEO, to capture the attention of technical buyers. A key aspect of this position is the strategic utilization of AI workflows to maximize output and efficiency, aiming for significantly higher productivity than traditional marketing roles.
In your first year, you will establish repeatable processes and systems, laying the groundwork for building a high-performing marketing team in your second year. This role offers the chance to transition from individual contributor to a leadership position, potentially heading the marketing function or managing a P&L within 2-3 years. Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Design and run the outbound system from scratch, including list building, signal capture, multi-channel sequences, and landing pages.
- Own demand generation, including content strategy, social media presence, and SEO to earn buyer attention.
- Leverage AI workflows (e.g., Clay, Apollo, Claude, GPT, n8n, Zapier) to achieve 3-5 times the output of a traditional marketer.
- Build and scale the marketing team within the first two years.
- Document and ensure all built systems are repeatable for new hires.
- Analyze and scale what works through experimentation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience starting something, running a P&L, or being an early commercial hire at a growing company.
- Ability to answer in numbers: pipeline built, deals closed, conversion rates.
- Proficiency in writing cold emails that get replies, building sequences that book meetings, and running discovery calls.
- Strong writing skills with samples of cold emails, LinkedIn posts, or landing page copy.
- Understanding that sales and marketing are integrated functions.
- Experience selling into developer, technical, or data-led buyers (useful, not essential).
- Background in learning, content, publishing, or developer tools (useful, not essential).
- Hands-on experience with tools like Clay, Apollo, Smartlead, Instantly (useful, not essential).
- Familiarity with product-led growth and self-serve B2B funnels (useful, not essential).
- Experience building an audience or community in public (useful, not essential).
