Job Description

The British Council is offering a unique one-year internship opportunity within its Marketing & Communications team in Lagos. This role is designed for recent graduates eager to gain practical experience in a dynamic, international environment.

As a Marketing and Communications Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting the execution of marketing strategies for our Arts, Higher Education, English, and School Education Programmes across Nigeria. You will gain hands-on experience in managing social media platforms, developing engaging content, assisting with internal communications, and contributing to the planning and promotion of various campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and upload content across social media platforms, managing basic inquiries.
  • Develop creative and engaging social media and content strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager for content planning and promotion.
  • Support campaign management and optimization across multiple channels.
  • Assist with email management and optimization.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance performance on the British Council Nigeria website.

  • Provide support in planning and hosting marketing events.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify consumer trends.

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate (within the last four years).
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic digital marketing strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Strong desire to learn with a professional attitude and drive.
  • Interest in digital marketing, including social media and other online marketing techniques.
  • Must have pre-existing legal status to live and work in Nigeria.
