Job Description
WaterAid is seeking a dynamic Marketing and Communications Intern to join our Communications and Resource Development Team. This role is exclusively open to students from the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy.
As an intern, you will be instrumental in crafting and executing effective communication strategies to boost WAC's visibility, impact, and engagement with a wide range of audiences. Your responsibilities will include developing compelling content, managing our social media platforms, and supporting our overall brand and messaging initiatives.
Key contributions will involve creating engaging content for our website, social media, newsletters, and press releases. You will oversee and manage our social media accounts to ensure a consistent and impactful online presence. Maintaining and enhancing WAC's brand identity, ensuring message and visual consistency, will also be a core part of your role. You will liaise with internal teams and external partners to gather stories that highlight WAC's impact and initiatives, and monitor the effectiveness of communication strategies through analytics.
Additionally, you will provide communication support for WAC events, including promotional material development and coverage. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to develop a professional marketing and communications portfolio, build expertise in nonprofit communications, and gain experience in digital marketing and campaign management.

Required Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and curate engaging and informative content for WAC's various communication channels, including website, social media, newsletters, and press releases.
- Oversee and manage WAC's social media accounts, ensuring consistent and impactful presence across platforms.
- Work to maintain and enhance WAC's brand identity, ensuring consistency in messaging and visual representation across all communications.
- Liaise with internal teams and external partners to gather information and stories that showcase WAC's impact and initiatives.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies using analytics tools, providing insights for continuous improvement.
- Provide communication support for WAC events, including promotional material development and event coverage.
Qualifications
- Must be a student at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
- Experience with content management systems.
- Basic design skills and familiarity with design software.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic Adobe Creative Suite skills.
