Job Description

Malteser International is seeking a dedicated Logistics Assistant to join our team in Katsina, Nigeria. This national position is crucial for supporting the logistical operations within the Katsina Area, ensuring seamless coordination with the Country Office.

In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the day-to-day logistics needs, including procurement, inventory, and fleet coordination. You will assist in implementing organizational procedures and donor regulations, ensuring all activities are conducted efficiently and in compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall support for logistics management at the Katsina location.
  • Assist in implementing procurement and logistics procedures in line with organizational and donor regulations.
  • Support preparation and processing of procurement documents, including bids and purchase requests.
  • Follow up on Goods Received Notes (GRN) and Job Completion Certificates from program teams.
  • Maintain proper filing systems and documentation for all logistics and procurement activities.
  • Manage warehouse/store operations and ensure regular asset tagging and inventory updates.
  • Coordinate vehicle requests, travel arrangements, and other logistical needs as required by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Procurement, Business Administration, or any related field of discipline.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years relevant experience, preferably in an NGO or development sector.
  • Basic knowledge of stock counts, assets, inventories, and fleet management.
